The Tuesday Club Murders: Miss Marple’s Thirteen Problems by Agatha Christie

Christmas Eve is one of my favourite days of the year. Not only is there magic in the air but (thanks to Jolabokaflod), we also exchange books. Oh, the joy of receiving a book shaped gift! This Christmas Eve I received a beautiful hardback edition of Agatha Christie’s The Tuesday Club Murders: Miss Marple’s Thirteen Problems.

The Tuesday Club Murders by Agatha Christie

I began reading on Christmas Eve and have just today, after a slow leisurely read, have just finished it. I haven’t read much Marple but I do adore her and have always enjoyed the tv adaptations. So it was a real delight to sink into this volume of 13 tales featuring our favourite spinster sleuth.

In the foreword Agatha Christie herself informs us ‘I enjoyed writing Miss Marple stories very much, conceived a great affection for my fluffy old lady, and hoped that she might be a success. She was.

This was the absolute perfect book to see me out of one year and into the next. Clever and engaging, I shall never tire of reading Agatha Christie and I too have conceived a great affection for this wonderful author and her creations.

Thank you for visiting today…

Next on my reading list is:

The City of Tears by Kate Mosse
