Precarious
The layers of life
One on top of another
Lichen finds fresh air
Moments of hope
Moments of clarity
Pollution seeps in
Slowly. Stealthily
The foundations hold strong
But all may topple with the slightest
Unsettling
I wrote this sometime ago in response to a photo prompt posted by a fellow blogger – MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie. I didn’t immediately post it as I wasn’t sure it was completed but now that I return to it I feel that I don’t wish to add or tinker with it further. I hope you enjoy it.
