The Wife Who Knew Too Much by Michele Campbell

Today I am delighted to be taking part in the blog tour for the latest thrilling novel from Michele Campbell, The Wife Who Knew Too Much.

The Wife Who knew Too Much by Michele Campbell is available now in paperback, ebook and on Audiobook.

She’s in too deep….

Meet the first Mrs Ford. Beautiful. Accomplished. Wealthy beyond imagination. Married to a much younger man. And now… dead.

Meet the second Mrs Ford. Waitress. Small-town girl. Married to a man she never forgot, from an affair ten years before. And now, she’s wealthy beyond imagination.

But who is Connor Ford? Two wives loved him, and knew him as only wives can…

Who is the victim? Who is the villain? And who will be next to die?

Set amongst the glittering mansions of the Hamptons, The Wife Who Knew Too Much is a decadent thriller about the lives of those who will do anything for love and money from the Sunday Timesbestselling author Michele Campbell.

My thoughts

This time last year I really enjoyed Michele’s previous thriller, A Stranger on the Beach and so was looking forward to reading this latest offering from Michele and I have to say it didn’t disappoint. It’s one of those books you can just disappear into. Set in an America where you can either be dripping in money or struggling to make ends meet yet neither situation will protect you if you know too much and someone wants you silenced.

It goes without saying that Connor, the husband, is immediately under suspicion before you even get past the first few pages. His wife is rich and angry. She has not only been betrayed but she has discovered something that implicates her husband in her potential death. Not long after she is found dead. A suspected suicide but we are immediately suspicious. We look back as events began to unfold two years prior to the tragedy and even further back in Connor’s past to a summer romance with the woman who would be soon be pulled back into his life. Yet who is this man she considers the love of her life? Is he everything he seems? And what hold does he have over her? and will that hold put her in danger?

I loved the many different layers of this novel. I never really knew who to trust and each character seemed unreliable. Even at the end I still wasn’t sure of the innocence of one character and that’s one of the great things about Michele’s writing. She leads you through and you’re never really sure who is guilty, who is innocent and there are plenty of snakes in the grass here. It was an excellent thriller to escape into. An easy read that had me reading into the night. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Thank you to the lovely team at HQ for inviting me to take part in the blog tour and for supplying me with a review copy via Netgalley.

The Wife Who Knew Too Much is available on ebook, paperback and on Audiobook.

Michele Campbell

Michele Campbell is a graduate of Harvard College and Stanford Law School and a former federal prosecutor in New York City who specialized in international narcotics and gang cases.

A while back, she said goodbye to her big-city legal career and moved with her husband and two children to an idyllic New England college town a lot like Belle River in IT’S ALWAYS THE HUSBAND. Since then, she has spent her time teaching criminal and constitutional law and writing novels.

She has had many close female friends, a few frenemies, and only one husband, who – to the best of her knowledge – has never tried to kill
